We opened our restaurant at Higashiura in Awaji-island at October 2014, and ranked one star on Michelin guide HYOGO 2016. The name of the restaurant “KOKOCHIYO ”is derived of “KOKOCHIYOI”, which means “being comfortable” in Japanese. An ordinary house built 43 years has renovated by famous architect ,it has been an sophisticated restaurant.
“Serving delicious cuisine and comfortable place” is the theme of our restaurant. Recently Children refused is increasing many of high-priced restaurant in Japan. We wellcome small baby, people of advanced aged with the aim of the pleasure of family.
Awaji-island is well known as good ingredient is created. Fresh seafood, vegetables, high quality meat, salt made from sea water of Awaji-island, rice. The most famous product is onion. Climate, soil of island are suitable for onion farming. High quality local Sake is also created in Awaji-island. Especially “HAMO (pike conger)”, “FUGU (tiger puffer)” of Awaji-island is loved by many people in Japan. Hamo reach its best season in summer, Fugu in winter.More information of AWAJISHIMA
